Application and Interface Support, Technology/IT – London

We have an exciting opportunity for a bright and enthusiastic individual to fill our Application and Interface Support role. This role is fast-paced, challenging and rewarding for someone who wants to empower their colleagues and help them achieve their day-to-day business goals. You will support the first line of help desk queries on Bloomsbury’s major financial and publishing systems. You will also provide data analysis and integration services for the business systems team and help ensure the company’s publications are best represented in commerce.

The role

  • Provide excellent front-line support on business applications managed by the Business Systems team, including Focal Point, Dimensions, Cognos, Biblio and VI Portal, including user account setup, at agreed service levels.
  • Manage support queue, escalate support issues to colleagues and vendors.
  • Assist in communications with company personnel and report to line manager on volume and dispatch of support issues.
  • Monitor software license usage and ensure timely and accurate setup and deactivation of user accounts.
  • Monitoring of operations, such as scheduled flows and interfaces; troubleshooting and escalating issues with these to line manager or team leaders as directed.
  • Support data quality initiatives including bulk data assessment, cleaning and loading on acquisition projects, checklist data reviews, etc. as directed by the Data Manager integration and data support
  • Help create and deliver documentation and training materials aimed at improving and optimizing title data for sales and industry best practices.
  • Bulk maintenance and upload of title data to third-party title databases (e.g. Amazon Vendor Central)

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Customer-focused, with a professional, patient and friendly manner
  • Mastery of basic computer concepts
  • Strong systems aptitude
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good MS Office skills, especially Excel
  • Cognos + Biblio3 software a plus
  • ONIX a plus

Further information

The role is a permanent full-time position.

The role is based in our London office 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP on a 2 day in office / 3 day from home (or fully in office if preferred) hybrid work model. The office days allocated for this role are: Wednesday and Thursday
