Beautiful London Park you’ve probably never heard of that is home to one of the city’s best winter walks

There is nothing like starting the New Year with a nice old walk.

London is home to a plethora of pretty parks and surprisingly green spaces to stretch your legs this winter.

But one of the best walks is in a lovely park that you might not have heard of.

In Highgate, Waterlow Park spans 20 acres of open beauty.

A true hidden gem, this could be the perfect place to blow off spider webs in the New Year.

Admire the city view from the park

You will find three ponds around the park where you can observe glorious wildlife throughout the seasons.

Situated on a hill, Sir Sydney Waterlow donated the park to the public in 1889 as a ‘garden for the gardenless’.

Stroll through the area which is now full of incredible nature and huge trees to get you away from the city.

For those looking for something more energetic than a stroll, Waterlow Park also offers tennis courts and a children’s play area to keep the little ones entertained.

At the edge of the park is the historic Lauderdale House. Here you can participate in all kinds of artistic activities and enjoy a heartwarming cup of tea in their cafe.

London has it all – the best nightlife, food, drink, events, markets, everything!

North London Park is full of benches also strewn about when you need a break or just want a minute to take in the beauty around you. Take a seat at the top of the hill and enjoy stunning views of the city.

Plus, if we’re lucky enough to have snow this winter, Waterlow Park is great for sledding.

Whenever white things hit the hill you can be sure you will find kids and adults sliding like something in a Christmas movie. It’s always a lot of fun.

Are you going for a wonderful winter walk in 2022?

You can find Waterlow Park at Highgate Hill, London N6 5HG.
