Camden unveils exciting program of events for London Festival of Architecture 2022

There will be over 80 events and activities in Camden, most of which will be free and will include specially commissioned new installations, talks and talks, walks and tours, exhibitions, workshops, film screenings and events family.

This year’s theme for the festival is “Take Action” in response to emerging from the impacts of the covid pandemic while continuing to deal with enormous social and environmental issues that have never gone away.

Camden Festival will focus on a walking route that draws people from the residential heart of the borough to central London, showcasing exciting new projects, Camden’s wonderful cultural assets, built and natural heritage, and new facilities, with a particular focus on the borough’s residents and communities.

Camden also commissioned the Phoenix Road Performing Gardens installation in Somers Town by NOOMA Studio, which won a public competition to develop a design installation that will act as a focal point for events and activities in the area during the festival.

The installation will be installed the last weekend of June and will transform Phoenix Road into a temporary street garden and facilitate performances and activities through pop-up installations and collaborations with local groups.

Phoenix Road Performing Gardens aims to showcase the spirit of local communities in Somers Town and explore alternative scenarios for the road to be pedestrianized during a weekend closure on June 25-26.
