Chelsea owner Todd Boehly ‘to host huge dinner in London with leaders from all 20 Premier League clubs’

CHELSEA co-owner Todd Boehley has reportedly invited executives from all Premier League clubs to a dinner he is hosting.

Representatives from each Prem club are expected in London today for the final shareholders’ meeting.

Boehly’s dinner is expected to follow this gathering, although some may not be able to attend the after party.

Despite this, Boehly’s invitation was welcomed as a gesture of goodwill, reports The Athletic.

Boehly wasted no time in exerting his influence.

Longtime board members Bruce Buck and Maria Granovskaia have both left Chelsea, leaving the American in charge of transfer affairs.

The Blues

Petr Cech has also left his role as technical director in what has been a big summer of change on and off the pitch for the Blues.

Boehly intends to appoint a sporting director to handle the transfer business in place of Granovskaia, which should ease Boehly’s responsibilities.

Thomas Tuchel fears he doesn’t have enough players to be ready for the first day of the Prem season, with Chelsea making just two signings.

Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly have added quality to the squad but there are obvious shortcomings in the squad, especially in defence.

Boehly has tried to snap up long-term target Jules Kounde and despite the £55million deal from Sevilla, it looks like the Frenchman could head to Barcelona.

The Spanish giants have already pinched Raphinha under Chelsea’s nose and could also steal captain Cesar Azpilicueta from Stamford Bridge.
