Taapsee Pannu, who attended the premiere of her upcoming film Dobaaraa at the 2022 London Film Festival, was spotted wearing a super chic trench coat over a matching ensemble. She was accompanied by the film’s director Anurag Kashyap and co-star Pavail Gulati.
Delighted to be part of the film festival, Taapsee took to Instagram and posted a series of images and wrote: Last night here in London…..Thank you for all the love #Dobaaraa from his very first audience . #LIFF (sic). The actress also took to the streets and posed for photos in her stylish avatar.
Shabaash Mithu’s actor’s ensemble was put together by famous stylists Devki Bhatt and Krutika Sharma. The highlight of the stylish look was Dash & Dot’s mirrored jute trench coat which the actor paired with the brand’s matching embroidered denim ensemble. Taapsee accessorized with a gold OH poppi lever necklace designed by Outhouse Jewellery.
So what’s so interesting about this trench coat? Well, it was made from recycled jute bags. The trendy and chic coat also featured hand-applied and mirrored embroidery. She teamed the minimalist coat with a coordinated set in Tencel denim fabric and was accented with multicolored embroidery.
A fun and chic ensemble, the coordinating set featured a triangle fitted bralette with multicolored floral embroidery on a soft summery Tencel denim fabric. It included adjustable straps and a smocked panel at the back. The high waisted denim pants with a tapered fit also featured colorful placement embroidery.
Speaking about the set, celebrity stylist Devki Bhatt said: “The outfit is a perfect blend of East and West, fusing Indian mirror work on the jacket and embroideries on the pieces with strong Western silhouettes like a trench coat, pants and a crop top. Which makes it an obvious choice for an event intended to celebrate both cultures in art.
From bespoke Indian craftsmanship to quirky flowing silhouettes, Taapsee’s style quotient has always been a heady blend of contemporary and traditional styles. There has been a lot of love for embroideries and embellishments in Taapsee’s fashion choices.
This isn’t the first time Taapsee has included durable sets in its stylish appearances. In the past, the actor has celebrated sustainable fashion with ornate creations created by Indian designers. During one of his red carpet appearances, Taapsee wore a colorful upcycled dress made from brocade scraps designed by Ashwin Thiyagarajan and for a photo shoot, the actor posed in an Econyl reclaimed nylon bodysuit designed by Bloni Atelier. .
