Leading communications consultancy, Euro Knowledge, has honored Nigeria’s greatest philanthropist, business tycoon and billionaire, Sir Adebukunola Kesington Adebutu, popularly known as ‘Baba Ijebu’, with its prestigious award of excellence Euro Knowledge Lifetime Achievement Award 2022 during his Euro Knowledge Leadership Philanthropy Forum at the House of Lords in London on Saturday.
Kessington and other honorees were recognized at the event for their excellent leadership in their respective fields, as well as for their exemplary contributions to society.
Awarding the prestigious award to Adebutu Kessington, Euro Knowledge said Baba Ijebu is an iconic businessman who has made a huge impact on thousands of people, saying his philanthropic gestures are second to none. Euro Knowledge, an international strategic communications group, is a trusted advisor to many of the world’s leading businesses, governments and financial institutions. The awards ceremony brought together captains of industries, decision makers and business tycoons, among others from around the world. Euro Knowledge also revealed in a statement signed by its chairman, Dr Alex Itkin and made public on Sunday, that the awards aim to recognize and celebrate exemplary leaders who have made significant contributions and become role models in their specific fields.
Speaking on the uniqueness of the Euro Knowledge Awards, Foreign Investment Network (FIN) Chairman Olayinka Fayomi said Euro Knowledge was based on the following pillars: philanthropy, humanitarianism and visionary leadership, promoting and celebrate individuals and organizations that intentionally spread these three virtues of life.

The ceremony began with a visit to the House of Lords, followed by a forum on trade, investment and governance.
The event also included a networking reception which allowed participants to have lunch with entertainment during the awards ceremony. Kessington was born on October 24, 1935 in Iperu, Ikenne Local Government, Ogun State into the family of the late Alhaji Karimu Folarin Adebutu alias “Owo-Iya” and the late Alhaja Seliat Olasimbo Adebutu of Iperu Remo. He enrolled at Wesley Primary School, Iperu Remo and later at Ijero Baptist School, Apapa Road, Ebute-Metta, Lagos where he obtained his first school leaving certificate in 1950. In 1955, he continued his secondary education at Baptist Academy, Lagos and rounded that off at Remo Secondary School (RSS) Sagamu Remo, Ogun State. Sir Adebutu went on to attend several leadership and management development courses, seminars and programs in Nigeria and abroad. All of this prepared him for the skilled management and leadership roles that have characterized his life to this day. He started his working experience early with Cable and Wireless Limited, (which later morphed into NITEL) in 1956. He then joined Claffin Chemicals Ltd as a salesman and rose to the position of Regional Sales Manager for Lagos and the former Midwestern state, having demonstrated uncommon integrity, hard work and sincerity that earned him respect and recognition from the start of his life. Odole d’Ife’s desire to have a positive impact on people’s lives and provide support to the many unemployed Nigerians prompted him to establish with his friend Chief Solomon Adebayo Bankole Ayoku, a company known as name of Face-To-Face Million Dollar Pools Ltd in 1969. Sir Adebutu is married and blessed with well-educated children some of whom have taken after their father and are doing exceptionally well in different business and people areas. Apart from being known as a highly reputable philanthropist, Sir Adebutu had also carved out a place for himself as a business icon and an outstanding manager of human and material resources. Popularly referred to as ”Baba Ijebu”, his lotto business enterprise has brought hope to the hopeless and great relief to the needy in society.
Today, Kesington’s business instinct has led him to branch out into other notable investments including: property management, agriculture and entertainment with breakthrough successes overall.
It is also instructive to note that its management skills can be visibly seen in its highly efficient workforce and outstanding organizational structure. Kesington’s philanthropic gestures make him head and shoulders dominating. His good heart sets him apart as a man of rare humanitarian personality.
His love for humanity led him to establish the Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu Foundation (KAAF) in 2005 as a special purpose corporation, for the pursuit of his philanthropic activities.
Through the KAAF, Sir Adebutu has provided assistance to a large number of people from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicity or party affiliation.
