Quintao has been with the club since 2019 and a coach for six years. He said the new assignment was “the biggest challenge” of his career.

The Portuguese native coached in Norway before coming to North America.

“There’s talent here,” he said.

Quintao said he sees a “ton of potential” among young players in London and Southwestern Ontario, and is looking forward to helping players develop their skills.

Peters is a former player for Trinity Western University in British Columbia and also captained the University of Saskatchewan Huskies. He also has six years of training under his belt.

“I’m really excited to be here,” said the Jamaican-born, Regina-raised coach. The women’s team has a core of returning players. Peters wants them to be ‘a team that likes to own the ball’.

“I really want to focus on developing our players,” Peters said.

Yiannis Tsalatsidis becomes the technical director of FC London.

FC London women finished first in the 2021 League1 regular season and were eliminated in the semi-finals of the playoffs.

The men’s team finished third in the Western Division of Ligue 1 and missed the playoffs.
