Grateful for the great care
Last August, after the operation, I was sent to the rehabilitation unit in Kensington Village for three months and received the best care. The staff was kind and the rehab team gave great therapy and showed a genuine interest in my well-being.

Personal support workers were efficient and cheerful despite being unstaffed for many days. In Kensington Village, there are wonderful and caring people who helped make my stay a very pleasant experience.

Women’s empowerment
Village Education and Development Society (VEDS), a registered Canadian charity, was founded in 2001 in response to the growing need to empower poor women in selected villages in Kerala and Tamilm Nadu, India. Over the years, VEDS has facilitated a myriad of development projects for the poor and has also funded Bachelor of Science in Nursing programs for deserving candidates.
VEDS has volunteers on the ground and no paid staff. More than 95% of donations are used for programs. All donations are tax deductible. Please donate through CanadaHelps. For more details on the different programs, please see: www.villageeds.org or by email at: [email protected] .

Collecting stories
The London and Middlesex Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society is seeking copies of printed (or digital) church histories or church anniversary publications from any church located in Middlesex County. With so many churches closing or being repurposed, we want to ensure that a local copy is preserved and digitized for future generations. If your New Year’s resolution was to declutter and you could find a spare copy of a church history to donate, or if you would be willing to lend it to us for digitization, we would greatly appreciate it.
For more information, please email Branch Recording Secretary Sheila Johnston at [email protected]

virtual music party
The St. Thomas Rotary Club is looking forward to its 68th music festival from February 28 to March 4. In 2021, Frank Exley, Chairman of the Music Festival Committee, led the incredible conversion to a virtual festival. This got good support in 2021 from participants willing to continue their musical studies.
With the current uncertainties of COVID-19, we will maintain our virtual festival for another year. It was a tough decision because playing without a responsive audience isn’t always easy for students. We hope that these difficulties will soon be behind us and that we can resume our usual live presentations.
