London celebrations

London is the most searched Rightmove shopper site for 2021

To analyse by Rightmove revealed that London was the most sought after location in 2021. It overtook Cornwall which was the top location at the start of the year.

London is historically most wanted, however, in January and February interest in Cornwall would have taken first place last year.

London topped in March and April, but interest in Cornwall rose again from May to September as the most sought after destination by shoppers.

The difference in the total number of searches at the end of the year between London and Cornwall was only 3%, compared to a gap of 24% in 2020 and 49% in 2019.

According to Rightmove, the smaller gap reflects the preferences of buyers in 2021 which have changed due to life priorities such as being able to work from home.

This has seen people favor coastal locations.

However, London’s return to top research later in the year underlines its return in popularity.
