London’s first HARD festival canceled after controversial UK restrictions extension – EDM.com

Following the controversial four-week delay in lockdown restrictions in the UK, HARD London organizers have abandoned their inaugural music festival.

HARD Events announced the festival, which was due to take place in the revolutionary Drumsheds Hall in London, in March 2021. Numerous electronic music superstars had been scheduled for performances, such as Alesso, Tchami, Dillon Francis and Malaa, among others.

As we reported before the UK government’s decision, a recent survey suggested that a quarter of the region’s nightlife businesses would not survive more than a month without government help. Half of them would close their doors in two months, according to the survey conducted by the Night Time Industries Association.

“Following the UK government’s decision to extend the restriction on live events, we are saddened to inform you that we will no longer be moving forward with HARD at The Drumsheds,” read a statement shared by HARD. “The latest government delay and the uncertainty it created left us with no choice. We are obviously extremely upset to share this news with you and have tried everything before making this decision. We simply cannot continue. with this level of uncertainty so close to the date of the show. “
