The long-running disaster known as Fairfield Halls has appointed a new chief executive.

Jonathan Higgins, who has organized festivals in and around Carlisle, has this to say:

“As we rebuild from the devastation caused by the COVID-19 crisis, this exciting new program of signature concerts, alongside many stellar performances from our resident orchestra, the London Mozart Players, will firmly restore Fairfield Halls’ classic lineup. , which is the backbone of the shows and events that will be staged in the Concert Hall of the Festival….

“We have an internationally renowned concert hall, the excellent Ashcroft Theater and a variety of versatile studio spaces, and they are all there to be used, and as much as possible! In addition to attracting big names, theatrical performances and brilliant classical acts, I want to see diversity in our lineup and more local kids on the Fairfield stages. I also encourage local choirs, amateur theater groups, youth theaters and dance schools to get in touch, they should all feel able to come and be part of our future. This is Croydon’s place, a community place and everything else comes after that.

It looks nice.
