Royal family: Kate Middleton surprises fans with secret visit to London hospital after busy day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations

The Duchess of Cambridge has once again impressed royal fans as it was revealed she made a secret visit to Guy and St Thomas’ Hospital in London last night to meet patients who were unable to join at Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

Catherine is the royal patron of Evelina London and was pictured meeting relatives and patients at the hospital during a surprise visit last night (Friday June 3) after attending the service of thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral and the Mayor’s Reception at Guildhall.

Royal fans on social media were quick to express their thoughts on the exit, with many praising the unofficial nature with which it was conducted.

The Duchess visited the hospital after attending numerous Platinum Jubilee celebrations

The news was shared on the hospital’s Twitter page alongside two images of the Duchess of Cambridge. The caption read: “We received a very special surprise last night! Our Patron, HRH The Duchess of Cambridge, came for a private visit to meet our patients, families and staff unable to join in the celebrations this weekend .”

Royal fans on social media were quick to heap the praise. One said: “How wonderful, so lovely to see the Duchess’ connection to her patronages.” Another person added, “Aww, that’s so caring of her! She’s just the best.” A third agreed: “What a wonderful surprise and much appreciated by our children, parents and staff. A perfect end to the day.”

Catherine became Evelina’s godmother in 2018 and said, “It’s always a pleasure to come and meet the patients and families who are here. A huge thank you to everyone here at Evelina for doing such incredible work on a daily basis to support children and their extended families here and also in the community. »

Following her appointment, Marian Ridley, Director of Evelina London, said: “We are absolutely delighted and deeply honored that the Duchess of Cambridge has chosen to become our patron… It has been a great pleasure to welcome back their Royal Highnesses at our hospital and it was absolutely wonderful that they were able to join us as we begin to celebrate our 150th anniversary.We are extremely grateful for the Duchess’s support and look forward to working closely with Her Royal Highness as Patroness.
