West Ham-linked Nayef Aguerd may already be in London for medical reasons

Rennes defender Nayef Aguerd is believed to be in London ahead of his medical at West Ham.

According West Francethe 26-year-old is set to become the Hammers’ first signing of the summer after a long chase.

West Ham and Rennes are believed to be close to reaching an agreement and Aguerd has even been cleared by the Moroccan FA to secure a transfer.

West Ham appear to have the slowest negotiators in Europe as most of their deals take time to progress.

There has been a personal agreement with Aguerd for weeks but they are still unable to reach a fee agreement with Rennes.

Let’s hope the Hammers don’t have to overpay for the Moroccan, and right now everything looks likely.

That said, it’s a relief the club made his first signing of the summer before July as they’ve often left him very late to get deals done.

Kurt Zouma will also be happy to have a partner in central defense who hasn’t gone past his prime and the two could form a seamless deal in the heart of the Irons’ defence.

In Aguerd, Moyes will have a defender who is a solid defender and also good with the ball at his feet.
