West London comedian Axel Blake has been crowned the winner of Britain’s Got Talent 2022. He beat singer Tom Ball and ventriloquist Jamie Leahey – and his puppet Chuck the Chicken – for the title tonight (5 June). The comedian delivered another witty comedy routine during the finale. The 33-year-old delivered a flood of jokes, including that he heard an audience member mistake him for rapper Stormzy, but with the added weight.
He also joked how the intensity of cycling in London forced him to give up the sport, but he still maintains his dance moves, which he demonstrated on stage. Simon Cowell, who gave the comedian his golden buzzer during the audition, said he was emotional for Blake after the routine.

He added: “I really believe we have discovered a star.” David Walliams added that it was a “winning performance” and that he thought he would “storm” the Royal Variety Performance. Fans of the star rushed to social media to congratulate the Londoner.
“I’m so glad Axel Blake won,” one viewer said. “So happy Axel won! Absolutely brilliant comedy! It was a great finale,” said another. A third person added: “The absolute legend Axel”.
It comes after another BGT finalist broke down on stage tonight when he apparently forgot his lyrics to his song. Rap group “Flintz and T4ylor” performed an emotional song on stage, but Flintz struggled to get his words across halfway through his performance.
The 22-year-old rapper looked devastated as he cried, but the judges quickly jumped to his defense. BGT judge Amanda Holden was herself reduced to tears, saying: “It’s okay, all your emotions went into this. What we need is authenticity and truth and that’s what you do.”
