It looks like Emily will be leaving Paris again. This time, the American expat could jump on a train to London. In a recent interview, Emily in Paris star William Abadie has shared an update on Season 3 filming plans for the netflix series, revealing he thinks the program will include time in the English capital. If true, it could mean our protagonist will visit her long-distance boyfriend, Alfie.
Alfie actor Lucien Laviscount became a series regular for ‘Emily in Paris’ season 3
At the end of Emily in Paris Season 2, Emily (Lily Collins) finds herself at a romantic crossroads once again. Her new boyfriend, Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), has to return home to London to continue his job as a banker. She could try long distances with him, be it a quick train ride from Paris to London or a long flight from America. On the other hand, Emily could also have the chance to try again with her neighbor, Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), with whom she has had a budding romance since moving to Paris.
Whatever Emily chooses to do, many fans fear Alfie’s return to London will mean Lucien Laviscount will no longer appear on the show. Fortunately, this is not the case at all.
Like Variety reported, Emily in Paris creator Darren Star announced at PaleyFest LA 2022 earlier this month that Laviscount would become a series regular. It’s unclear what Laviscount’s role will look like in the new season, but it certainly opens the door to more Emily/Alfie adventures.
William Abadie teased filming Emily in Paris season 3 in June, possibly in London
Emily in Paris spends much of his time filming in the City of Lights. However, Season 3 might also include some shots of London, like Antoine Lambert actor William Abadie revealed. While attending the New York Academy of Arts’ Tribeca Ball, Abadie said We Weekly that Emily in Paris Filming for Season 3 is set to begin in June 2021.
“We’re fully in pre-production, and I think we’re supposed to be in Paris in early June, so I’m planning some of that soon,” he explained before adding that the cast might “spend a short time” in London too.
Abadie added that the production schedule has yet to be finalized, so it is unconfirmed if they will be filming in London. However, with Laviscount on board for Season 3, it certainly makes sense.
Star also predicted at PaleyFest that filming would begin in June. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on how long production will take, but it will likely take most of the summer. Netflix has yet to announce a broadcast window for Season 3.
Darren Star said Season 3 will also highlight other regions of France
Last season, fans were given a look outside of Paris as Emily traveled to Saint-Tropez for a vacation. Star has a similar plan for Season 3.
“We’re still thinking about how we can show Paris,” he told PaleyFest, per Variety. “It’s not hard to make Paris amazing, because it is, no matter where you look or where you point the camera. We will always want the story to lead to locations. but we have very nice places planned for season 3 in France, not only in Paris.
