York enters the world’s top 10 Christmas markets alongside London’s Winter Wonderland

Halloween has come and gone, so many of us will be looking forward to the holiday season.

And what better way to get in the festive mood by visiting a Christmas market as the big day approaches.

With the opening of the Christmas markets, thousands of people will flock to their premises to enjoy the traditional storesWarmed up wine and sweet treats.

But if you’re looking to travel further afield, you might want to take a look at some new research by Planet Cruise.

In their handy guide, they’ve revealed the best Christmas markets to visit in 2022.

Curiously, two of the top 5 are actually in the UK, with the one in London winter wonderland in second and the York Christmas Market in fifth.

York’s St. Nicholas Fair will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year by opening its doors on November 17.

From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until December 23, the festive celebration will line Parliament Street and St Sampson’s Square with a host of local produce.

For its anniversary year, the organizers of the event are highlighting the new traditional Swiss chalet known as The Winter Hütte.

The Visit York The information page reads: “The Winter Hütte offers a ‘Swiss’ dining experience with a twist” from one of Yorkshire’s best-known chefs, Michelin-starred Andrew Pern. has a fully licensed bar serving seasonal dishes like gluhwein and spiced cider.

According to the new study, Winter Wonderland is the second best Christmas market to visit in the world this year.

This year’s market will have 200 stalls and visitors can try out the UK’s largest outdoor ice rink.

The Hyde Park Christmas Party will run from November 18 to January 2 and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

As for the other Christmas markets that made it into the top 10, Bryant Park Winter Village in New York City took the top spot.

The market is longer than the traditional one, with Christmas festivities starting last week on October 28 and continuing until March 5 next year.

The Toronto Christmas Market is the third best in the world according to research, with Spruce Meadows Christmas Markets in California ranked 4th.
